WELCOME
A Little About Us
From humble beginnings in 1962 St Peter's began mission in what was then the growing outer North East suburb of Bundoora. Our first church building was a small rectangular building, attached to the parish hall, with a capacity of 60 people. As congregations grew so too did the church buildings, from the original small plant to the expansive centre we have today. St Peter’s Bundoora is a Church where you can come to grow in your faith, learn about the Bible and study the Word of God.
Our fellowship is made up of people of all ages who gather together to grow together and embrace their faith.
Our Values and Mission
‘Love Jesus, Love the Church, Love and serve the World’
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. ( Ephesians 2:10)
God has prepared good works for us to do; not just individually, but collectively as a church.
These three core values align with the key components of our mission statement and give a fuller picture of who we are and what is important to us.
The Cross (Love Jesus)
Jesus died on a cross for our sins, so that all who turn to him might receive forgiveness and everlasting life. That is the essence of the Good News of the Christian message and the reason that the cross is the enduring symbol of Christianity.
We love Jesus and want to live lives of grateful obedience to him.
The Community (Love the Church)
Through the presence of the Holy Spirit, God empowers the church, to be the body of Christ in the world. As a diverse and welcoming community who take Jesus’ command to “love one another as I [Jesus] have loved you" seriously, St Peter’s Bundoora strives as one small part of that body to make that love known beyond ourselves.
The Mission (Love the World)
We aim to reach out with the Good News of Jesus, through our words and the way we live. We believe that discipleship begins long before a person becomes a Christian and we are committed to prayerfully nurturing the faith and spiritual growth of those whom God sends us.
